The meeting provided an opportunity to review the research framework and key issues, analyze gaps in the enforcement of laws related to Universal Design (UD), and exchange perspectives on Japan’s approaches and implementation mechanisms. The insights gained will inform further analysis and the development of approaches suited to Thailand’s specific context.
In addition, the research team jointly established the research implementation plan for Fiscal Year 2027, covering study planning, data collection, analysis of relevant laws and policies, comparative research on the Japanese model, and the development of policy recommendations and the “Spiral-Up” integrated governance mechanism. These efforts aim to support the effective implementation of Universal Design principles and translate them into tangible outcomes in Thailand.
