“From the Classroom to Parliament: Enhancing Legal Knowledge through Real-World Experience”
On 18 December 2025, Assistant Professor Tattanun Konglamtan, Associate Dean for Student Affairs of the Faculty of Law, led law students on a study visit to learn about the role of Parliament in the legislative process at the Parliament Building, as part of the Knowledge Dissemination Project on the Legislative Process (Legislative Process), Batch 1. The project aimed to enhance students’ knowledge, understanding, and first-hand experience of the political and administrative system under a democratic regime with the King as Head of State, while promoting meaningful learning beyond the classroom.
The project was honored by Mr. Sirote Phaetphun, Secretary-General of the House of Representatives, who delivered the opening remarks. Students participated in key activities, including:
- ➡️ A special lecture on “NEW GEN Parliament: The Legislative Process in the Hands of the New Generation”, delivered by Mr. Noraset Pratchayakorn, Senator and Chairperson of the Standing Committee on Political Development, Public Participation, Human Rights, Rights, Liberties, and Consumer Protection.
- ➡️ A guided tour and study visit of the Parliament.
- ➡️ A panel
discussion on “Concepts and
Principles of Legislative
Drafting”, presented by legal
officers from the Legal Affairs Office
and legislative lawyers,
namely:
- Mr. Samatcha Sombatphanit, Head of Legal Division 3
- Mr. Sanit Krataithong, Senior Professional Legal Officer
- Mr. Witthawat Nimdam, Senior Professional Legal Officer and Level 2 Legislative Lawyer
This project enabled students to learn the legislative process directly from experts, integrating academic perspectives with practical experience. Such exposure serves as a vital foundation for the development of high-quality legal professionals in the future.
