On October 7, 2026, third-year students from Class Group 004 of the Faculty of Law organized a seminar entitled “Risk Management and Liability Arising from Erroneous AI Decisions.” The seminar aimed to promote knowledge and understanding of the legal issues surrounding the use of modern technologies, particularly facial recognition technology, in Thai society, with a focus on personal data protection and the right to privacy.

The opening ceremony was presided over by Assistant Professor Tattanant Khonglamthan, Associate Dean for Student Affairs, who emphasized the importance of understanding emerging technologies and their growing role in everyday life. Facial recognition technology involves the processing of personal data and directly affects individuals’ fundamental rights. Its implementation must therefore take into account appropriateness, necessity, data security, and the protection of data subjects’ rights.

The seminar featured Acting Major Dr. Sarun Amatayakul as the guest speaker, who shared his knowledge and professional experience regarding the legal challenges associated with facial recognition technology under Thai law. Discussions covered the collection, use, and disclosure of facial recognition data, as well as consent, data security, and individuals’ right to privacy.

The seminar was held in the Chor Kaew Meeting Room, 5th Floor, Building 31, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University.
