| On October 7,
2026, third-year students from Class
Group 003 of the Faculty of Law
organized a seminar to promote knowledge
and understanding of the use of Facial
Recognition Technology in Thai society,
as well as the legal issues surrounding
personal data protection and the right
to privacy. The opening ceremony was presided over by Assistant Professor Dr. Kamonwan Yoowatthana, Dean of the Faculty of Law, who emphasized the importance of preparing for technological changes through legal knowledge and awareness. Facial recognition technology has become increasingly prominent in everyday life and the operations of various organizations, raising important concerns regarding the collection and processing of personal data and the protection of individual privacy rights. The seminar featured Police Colonel Dr. Phongphot Thammakunwich as the guest speaker. He discussed key issues concerning the use of facial recognition technology in the Thai context, including legal considerations related to the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data, as well as approaches to safeguarding the public’s right to privacy. The event also included an interactive question-and-answer session, giving students the opportunity to review the seminar content and exchange knowledge in an engaging learning environment. Prizes were awarded to participants who answered the questions correctly. |
